Sculpture in Clay: When Clay Speaks to You
All levels
Wednesdays 6:30-9:30 pm                    The Sculpture Workshop
Workshop
begins Sept. 24th, 2003
Sessions meet once a week for 8 weeks, with the 
9th week meeting, a pot luck dinner & critique.
Workshop meets in the Salon.

In these workshops, we will explore various aspects
and techniques of handbuilt clay as high art, from the 
European Renaissance and various Asian dynasties.
You will learn about sculpting standing statuary and   
the figurine; the figurative arts, low and high relief   
wall sculpture and handmade tile work. 

Drawing and Painting: Introduction to 2-D

All Levels (Beginners & those rusty encouraged)
Mondays 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Workshop begins Sept. 29th, 2003         The Drawing Workshop

This workshop is a delightful palette where we explore
7 different two-dimensional media to help the budding
artist discover his or her favorite. Charcoal and pencil,
pen and ink, watercolor, chalk pastels, oil pastels,
oil painting and acrylic painting are introduced,
one each week. Material lists for each medium will
be distributed each week; and materials that you need
are provided by Modern ARF for that class session.
The Museum of Modern ARF is available for local
elementary and high school Field trips. Students visit
and see how a real art studio and gallery operate.
